Expert: Hispanic holidays can expand shopping season, sales

The holiday season, which stretches from Halloween to New Year’s Day, offers grocers an opportunity to connect with consumers and increase sales, but operators can further the effort by marketing products for Hispanic holidays and traditions, writes Gustavo Guerra, brand director for Tecate Franchise and Indio at Heineken USA. Promotions for Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, and Maratón Lupe-Reyes, which occurs between Dec. 12 and Jan. 6, can extend the shopping season for retailers and generate additional revenue, Guerra writes.
