President Obama supports online sales tax bill

President Barack Obama supports the Marketplace Fairness Act after hearing from governors, mayors and business owners around the country who say the measure is needed to level the playing field for brick-and-mortar merchants and shore up state coffers, White House press secretary Jay Carney said. “We think this is inevitable, with states looking for revenue, with the growth of e-commerce,” NRF spokesman Stephen Schatz said.
